Collection: The Perfectly Imperfect Sale

The whole process of creating ceramics is full of variables and imperfections arise due to natural, uncontrollable factors. These imperfections might include small cracks, uneven glaze application, tiny air bubbles, or slight warping, which can be attributed to the delicate balance of temperature, moisture, and handling during production.

Cracks, for example, may form due to uneven drying or uneven heating in the kiln. Similarly, glaze imperfections like drips, variations in colour occur due to the unpredictability of the kiln environment and sometimes, application.  In handmade ceramics, they create a sense of authenticity and add life to each piece. They tell the story of the piece's creation, showcasing its handmade origins rather than a machine's precision.

I am so grateful to have a community that cherishes and celebrates these "flaws" or the beauty of imperfections. They serve as a reminder that the process of creation is not without its challenges. The cracks, inconsistencies, and slight flaws in handmade ceramics make each piece more human, more lived-in. They reflect the inherent beauty of the natural world—unpredictable, varied, and imperfect, yet full of charm and uniqueness.
